Transport Department of Delhi Government is involved in a scam of 500 crores of panic button
NewDelhi: The Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri has exposed another scam worth hundreds of crores of rupees in the Transport Department of the Delhi government. Approximately 500 crores of rupees have been looted from taxi and bus operators in the name of making panic buttons mandatory for women's safety, while no call centre has been established by the department so far. If a woman presses this button in an emergency, it is of no use. Bidhuri stated that a CBI investigation should be conducted to reveal how this huge amount of money has been distributed among the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party.Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor coordinated the press conference in presence of Vikram Mittal Co Head Media Relations Department.Bidhuri stated in a press conference that the Kejriwal government in Delhi made panic buttons mandatory in buses and taxis in the name of women's safety. The government was claiming to be very concerned about women's safety and now it has become clear how fake and deceitful their concern was. The installation of panic buttons was initiated in 2019. Taxi drivers in Delhi were charged 9,000 rupees per year, while bus drivers were charged 22,000 rupees per year. This amount has been collected continuously for four years.Bidhuri stated that a panic button is just a plastic button, which should cost only 5 rupees, but crores of rupees have been collected in the name of panic buttons. The Transport Department has created a panel of vendors for installing panic buttons, and these vendors are paid from this amount. He said that Delhi and the entire country have been made fools in the name of panic buttons. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal kept making big claims that Delhi is the only state where women's safety is of great concern, but now the truth has come out because no information about any danger reaches anyone when a woman presses the panic button. The entire call centre system has turned out to be a fraud. The reason behind this is that the Transport Department has not established any call centre to date.If a woman is in any emergency and presses this button, no information is conveyed, and she does not receive any help in any way. The name of the panic button is merely a forced collection that the Delhi government has been carrying out. Bidhuri showed a demo of the panic buttons installed in two taxis to the journalists during the press conference. These panic buttons were pressed, but no response was received from anywhere.Bidhuri said that a CBI investigation should be conducted into this entire matter because in such a massive scam, the government of the Aam Aadmi Party will be fully involved. The public should know who the vendors were those have been collecting crores of rupees and how much share of it reaches the Aam Aadmi Party government.Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor who conducted the press conference said that two months back, BJP had proved with evidence that how Kejriwal government through an NGO has been doing a scam in the name of fitness of auto rickshaws and other commercial vehicles and today we are exposing the panic button scam of Kejriwal government which is not only a economic scam but amounts to playing with the safety of women and children too.
