GIMS Greater Noida Successfully Concludes Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification Course
Greater Noida: The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, proudly announces the successful completion of its Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification Course, reinforcing its commitment to advancing medical education and life-saving competencies among healthcare professionals.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. (Brig.) Rakesh Gupta Director GIMSandDr. Bhanu Pratap Singh Kalyan Assessor Lakshay. The session attended by over 30 healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff. The course was conducted by the BCLS expert team under the guidance of Anaesthesia Departments, who provided a comprehensive understanding of evidence-based emergency care techniques.

The training focused on imparting essential life support skills required during cardiac and respiratory emergencies. Participants were guided through the differences between BCLS and COLS (Compression Only Life Support), emphasizing the correct sequence of actions during resuscitation efforts. Practical demonstrations were also conducted on the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and techniques to manage choking and cardiac arrest situations effectively.
Conducted in collaboration with the Indian Resuscitation Council Federation, the certification program aimed to empower healthcare workers with the knowledge and confidence to respond swiftly and effectively in critical medical scenarios.
Speaking at the event, Dr. (Brig.) Rakesh Gupta commended the initiative and underscored the importance of continued skill-based training to strengthen emergency preparedness across healthcare institutions. He emphasized that timely and competent intervention can significantly improve survival rates in cardiac emergencies.
The successful conclusion of the BCLS certification course reflects GIMS’s ongoing mission to promote excellence in clinical education, patient safety, and community health initiatives.
