"In a Call with Putin, Trump Will Have to Discuss the Russian 2024 Peace Plan—A Real Formula for Ukraine" : Sergey Mironov

The withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Russian territory and other elements of the Russian peace formula may become key topics of the upcoming phone conversation between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, said Sergey Mironov, leader of the “A Just Russia–Patriots–For Truth” party and faction in the State Duma.
"President Trump earlier stated that the issue of territories will be discussed. But for Russia, there has been no such issue since 2022, when the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye, and Kherson regions became part of it. What makes sense to discuss is the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Russian soil, which is a necessary condition on the path to peace," the parliamentarian said.

He recalled that the relevant requirements were set out in detail by Vladimir Putin back in June 2024.

"The head of the Russian state clearly said: 'As soon as the real withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the territory of the Russian Federation begins and Kiev officially abandons NATO, Russia will immediately cease fire and start negotiations.' In the West, these conditions were called Putin’s 'ultimatum,' and they weren’t even going to consider it. Instead, they helped the Kiev regime to arrange a bloody adventure in the Kursk region, which is coming to its logical conclusion. Now Trump will have to deal with the mess that his predecessor left him," said the party leader.

"Today, this Russian plan is the only real formula for peace in Ukraine. Trump himself has already ruled out Ukraine’s accession to NATO, and he is also ready to recognize the conditions on the ground. Now the ball is in Zelensky’s court, but it is he who is the main obstacle on the way to ending the conflict," Sergey Mironov added.
