FDDI Hosts Skill-Based Training Session in Collaboration with CBSE for CBSE Educators

Noida: The Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) successfully organized a one-day comprehensive training session on 18th July 2025 in collaboration with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The event brought together  principals, teachers, and career counsellors, under one roof to enhance awareness and capabilities in skill-based education

The event was graced by  Dr. Biswajit Saha, Director ( Skill Education), CBSE, as the Guest Speaker, who delivered an insightful address on how  FDDI is playing a significant role in building a skill-driven India*. He emphasized the growing need for skill-based education and how FDDI’s specialized courses in Footwear, Fashion Design, Leather Goods, and Retail Management can serve as a transformative resource for both students and educators.

In his speech, Dr. Saha noted, “India’s future depends on equipping students with the right skills and exposure. FDDI is at the forefront of this mission, with industry-aligned programs and state-of-the-art infrastructure that can revolutionize vocational education in schools.”

The training provided to the educators included a dedicated session on Skill-Based Courses, aligned with NEP 2020 guidelines, and an engaging hands-on activity session on Design Thinking—a 21st-century skill crucial for problem-solving and creativity in the classroom. The activities were designed to help educators understand how to incorporate experiential learning in their pedagogy.

The session highlighted how academia and industry can collaborate to build a strong workforce for the future. FDDI’s initiative was widely appreciated by the attendees, who showed keen interest in implementing such modules in their institutions.

The event concluded with a guided tour of the FDDI campus, where all guests were shown the latest technology-driven machinery, design labs, and production units, giving them a comprehensive overview of the institute's world-class infrastructure and practical training facilities.
