Strengthening India–LAC Trade Relations at LAC FIRST 2026
YuuuIt was an honor for me to participate in the *LAC FIRST – India-Latin America and Caribbean Trade and Diplomatic Conference*, held on June 24, 2026, at the FIEO Auditorium in New Delhi's Export Bhawan, says Rajiv Bansal.
The conference brought together Ambassadors, High Commissioners, diplomats, policymakers, industry leaders and exporters from India and the Latin American & Caribbean (LAC) region to explore new avenues for trade, investment and strategic collaboration.
The country presentations and B2B interactions provided valuable insights into emerging opportunities across sectors such as textiles & apparel, food processing, pharmaceuticals, engineering goods, renewable energy, infrastructure and digital technologies. The discussions also highlighted the importance of strengthening institutional partnerships, improving market access and facilitating greater business-to-business engagement between India and LAC nations.
*As Convenor, EXIM Policy & Trade Promotion Committee (Northern Region), FIEO,* I found the deliberations particularly relevant in identifying new export destinations for Indian MSMEs and strengthening India’s presence in the LAC region. Such initiatives play an important role in diversifying export markets and enhancing bilateral economic cooperation.
I congratulate India Empire, FIEO, the participating diplomatic missions and all partner organisations for successfully organising this impactful conference.
